I’m a proud resident of Howard County, Maryland where I live with my wife Laura. She is probably the most photographed person in the world, also the most patient.
I started shooting with my father’s camera at age 5. He taught me the ins and outs of taking a great photo, how to adjust to the lighting conditions, and how to compose the best possible shot every time. My mother inspired me to develop an eye for a great image. “Hey Russell, that would make a great picture, go shimmy out onto that rocky overhang”.
I was raised in a diverse community between Baltimore and DC . Being near two great cities presented me with wonderful opportunities for exposure to art and culture. I have traveled extensively across the US and Europe, and lived for a time in New Zealand. Of course, my camera has never been far from reach.
As an amateur I won many local photography competitions. Since turning professional in 2011, I won the PMA International photo challenge and been selected for the anual Exposed DC Gallery Show in 2013 and 2014, my photography has also been featured on many blogs and websites including WAMU.org, MSNBC.com, and in print in the Washington Post Magazine .
Thanks to AmberMarlow.com for the head shot!
Here’s what some of my Clients have to say:
“Russell Brammer is amazing to work with and a very talented photographer. He took professional headshots for me and it was a great experience. I felt very comfortable working with him and felt a sense of trust immediately. His instructions were easy to understand and follow (even for this direction-challenged subject). I could not be more pleased with the photos and can see how his cues translated on film. Furthermore, Russell exuded professionalism while keeping the shoot fun. He is clearly dedicated and passionate about his craft. Also, he delivered the photos super quickly!
I highly recommend Russell Brammer (I’m busy trying to think of other reasons to hire him again!)
“Your dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism were outstanding throughout the entire event. You not only took the time to drive down to Virginia Beach you communicated your location and kept us updated on your estimated time of arrival (Which was very helpful with my busy day, it was one less thing to worry about). As chaotic as the day was, you seemed to have settled in and figured out your plan of attack as to how you would successfully capture our exciting performance. You can imagine my relief to know that you had the photography part under control. You got our pictures/photo back to us very quickly… which was so great and you captured every aspect of the awesomeness for us that day. Your work is wonderful and we would highly recommend you to anyone.
Thanks for making it a pleasurable experience working with you
